It’s been a rollercoaster 24-hours for The Hills fans.

The announcement that the show is getting a reboot was followed by the heart-breaking news Lauren Conrad will not feature in The Hills: New Beginnings.

Despite Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt and Audrina Patridge all confirmed – and Whitney Port teasing an appearance – there’s no chance of Conrad re-joining her old castmates, a source confirmed to People.

“She’s in a different place in her life,” the insider said. “But she wants everyone to enjoy themselves. She wishes everyone the best.”

Lauren welcomed her first child, Liam, with husband William Tell last year and has previously expressed her desire to leave reality TV behind for good.

A teaser hints The Hills: New Beginnings will be about the OG reality stars re-connecting and seeing how life has changed in the decade since the show ended.

Heidi and Spencer have an 11-month-old son, Gunner, Audrina Patridge has a two-year-old daughter, and Whitney Port, who tweeted she “might” be involved, has a one-year-old son.

Kristin Cavallari is said to be out since she already has a reality show, Very Cavallari, and Lo Bosworth reportedly said last year “I don’t want any association with any of those people.”

The Hills: New Beginnings is slated for 2019 on MTV.
