UPDATE MAY 20: In just under two weeks long-awaited Friends: The Reunion will hit HBO Max. In addition to the short teaser that was released last week, the streaming platform has finally released the full-length trailer.

The trailer shows Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer reenacting several iconic scenes including the trivia game which led to the groups swapping appartments. The group even argues whether Ross and Rachel were on a break (don’t get me started). And yes, Janice is there to revive, “OH MY GOD!”.

I’m not crying, you’re crying. Watch the trailer below.

ORIGINAL STORY, May 14: This is not a drill. Overnight HBO Max finally released its first teaser trailer to hotly-anticipated Friends: The Reunion. After having been plagued by delays and filming restrictions amid the pandemic, the streaming service announced it would drop from May 27. Cue Janice: “OH! MY! GOD!”

Jennifer Aniston shared the short 40-second teaser to Instagram with Olivia Wilde swiftly commenting, “This is my vaccine.” And we have to agree with the actress. Finally, something to look forward to that still involves socially distancing at home.

Released on the one-year anniversary of HBO Max, the reunion will be just one single episode aptly titled “The One Where They Get Back Together”. As well as starring the main cast – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer – the episode will host a number of A-list guests. Think David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai.

The special will be directed by Ben Winston and produced by “Friends” executive producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane.

According to New York Postthe episode will run in a sit down interview format and the stars won’t be reprising their characters. “Nothing is scripted, and we are not in character,” Schwimmer has said. “We are all ourselves, although there is one section of it that I don’t want to give away, but we all read something.”

The episode was filmed on the original Burbank Warner Bros. Studio lot soundstage, Stage 24.

Just days ago Courtney Cox revealed a little-known fact about the original opening credits of Friends. The fountain scene was apparently not all fun and games with Cox admitting on the Ellen Degeneres Show: “We were in that fountain for a long time. Someone thought that would be fun and let me tell you what happened: it’s not fun to be dancing in a fountain for hours and hours.”

Mark your calendars.
