“Sauvage means ‘wild,’ and French women are pretty wild. The Poppy Sauvage Collection combines my three favourite moments of spring: the attitude of the season, my ideal makeup look, and my go-to colour: the one-of-a-kind fire-red that you can only see on the poppies in France,” Violette says. That one-of-a-kind poppy red is the collection’s star; rich, bold and matt in finish, the colour inspired the entire collection, and of course, holds a special place in Violette’s heart – the red lip is her signature look. With the South of France as her muse; Violette looked to its natural marvels to inspire. “This makeup collection is all about my printemps souvenir, or my spring memory, seeing the sun rise over the poppy fields in the south of France. When the light hits them just right, the fields turn gold, pink and copper, like they’re suddenly on fire with colour. It’s so vibrant, it gives me so much energy. Combining all of these shades in one collection is my way to recharge for a new season after the frost of winter melts away.” It’s this snapshot of Spring in the South of France that resonates with the entire collection; one of petal-inspired lips, radiant ombré cheeks, skin kissed by a touch of morning dew.
