Vanessa Hudgens is officially a mother!
The former Disney Channel star welcomed her first child with professional baseball player Cole Tucker. Pictures of the newlyweds leaving a hospital in Santa Monica with their newborn in tow confirmed the news, with the announcement coincidentally timed to the first-time father’s 28th birthday.
Neither the actress nor the athlete have commented on their joyous arrival, with news of the baby’s name and gender still under wraps. Could the light blue linen shirt Hudgens wore out of the hospital and the blue-and-white striped blanket the baby was swaddled signify anything? See the (tell-tale) signs, here.
Hudgens and Tucker met in a very Los Angeles way—via Zoom in a virtual meditation led by former monk turned lifestyle guru and podcaster, Jay Shetty. After Tucker direct messaged Hudgens on Instagram the next day, the pair began their whirlwind relationship which accumulated in the MLB player proposing to Hudgens by the Eiffel Tower in February 2023.
They were married by December of that year, with the couple exchanging vows during a destination ceremony in Tulum, Mexico. “It’s the most romantic city in the world,” Hudgens said of her wedding location. The nuptials itself took place in the Mayan jungle at a holistic treehouse-inspired gallery called the Azulik City of Arts.
Vera Wang designed the bride’s cowl-neck slip wedding dress, with her tulle veil embroidered with the phrase “Mrs. T December 2nd, 2023” in gothic font. Yes, T as in Cole Tucker.
By March, Hudgens was already several months along, with the High School Musical alumni announcing her pregnancy on the red carpet at the 2024 Oscars. She proudly debuted her growing bump in a custom body-conscious and turtleneck gown also designed by Wang. Hudgens later took cues from Rihanna’s boudoir-esque maternity style in a new season Alberta Ferretti sheer dress and matching cape for the 2024 Vanity Fair Academy Awards After Party.
While we await an update from the parents, it’s apparent Hudgens is soaring and flying into this new phase of motherhood. The start of something new, indeed.
