Often, Haute Couture shows are a display of wild and wonderful clothes, but Valentino has matched gowns with glitter, putting on a spectacular display of makeup sorcery at its show in Beijing yesterday. With legendary Pat McGrath at the helm, the show was a medley of velvet fuchsia lips and razor sharp liner, but also two full-faced glitter masks that quite literally have to be seen to be believed.

Titled the Silver Screen Siren, the all-encompassing look was worn by two Chinese models He Cong and Cai Guannan. Futuristic and old world all at once, it was everything brilliant about beauty: dazzling, artistic, and very expressive. It was a fantastic story and made us want to do more, whether that’s glitter, shimmer, or simply a lick of eyeliner. Be it a full face or not, McGrath can certainly inspired us all to partake in makeup revelry this holiday season, if only for a moment, anyway.
