If there’s one thing that we’re certainly not wanting for in Sydney (besides closed down frozen yoghurt franchises), it’s chic and delicious dining options. What we make up for in stylish eateries, however, we undoubtedly lack in quality establishments where pants are a negotiable part of the dress code.

As if responding directly to that very real gap in the market for Sydney’s finest food eaten sans pants, Uber have today launched a standalone app that facilitates the delivery of meals from over 100 of Sydney’s iconic dining institutions straight to wherever you may be. UberEATS have partnered with hatted restaurants – some exclusive to home delivery – including Saké and Three Blue Ducks, as well as failsafe eateries like Fratelli Fresh, Love Supreme in Paddington, Thievery in Glebe and the Spice Alley dining precinct on the delivery of certifiably delicious meals seven days a week. You’ll be able to order from the app between 11am and 10pm (this is Sydney, after all).

Julian Cincotta, head chef at Surry Hills concept restaurant Butter – where lines are common, fried chicken is served in shoe boxes, and champagne is poured under the watchful gaze of a wall of cult sneakers – remarked that the partnership is a natural one considering each party’s mutual aspiration to innovate while also connecting the restaurant “with a much larger audience, while also reinforcing the prestige of our brand, because only the best local restaurants are invited.”

UberEATS was first made available in Melbourne in April of this year, and enters into a potentially crowded local market that includes delivery services like Foodora, Deliveroo and Menulog.

For a limited time, delivery will be free to inner city suburbs before a flat $5 delivery fee is applied to all orders. To use, simply download and sync the app with your presumably pre-existing Uber account, input your details and preferred order, pay and track your order. Go forth and consume (pants optional).
