Hailey Bieber may be one of the few human beings to have actually upgraded their style during lockdown. While the rest of us mere mortals were settling into our newly acquired, slightly overpriced sweatpants, the model was curating a whole new array of looks—looks so good, they work even in the constraints of a socially-distanced fashion week.

Yesterday, Bieber was photographed attending Milan Fashion Week in layered black ensemble—straight-leg trousers, leather belted trench, stilettos—that still managed to pack a punch, even with the addition of a black face mask. The 23-year-old topped the look off with Versace shades—no surprise, given she recently fronted the brands’ latest fragrance campaign.

Bieber was only in Milan for a couple of days, jetting back to her native Los Angeles with fellow model and BFF Kendall Jenner last night. En route to the airport she pulled off another impressive outfit, a black tracksuit with an oversized shocking pink blazer by Balenciaga.

Bieber hasn’t only been using face masks to make fashion statements. Last last week she took to Instagram to encourage her 29 million followers to enrol to vote in the upcoming US presidential election. Wearing a mask emblazoned with the words ‘VOTE’ over and over again, she wrote: “This years election to me is the most important of my lifetime, and I hope you feel the same.”

Using fashion to support democracy? We truly do love to see it.
