Further details are coming to light about Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker’s health scare on Tuesday, which had the musician rushed to hospital in an ambulance with his wife Kourtney Kardashian following closely behind.
At the time of the incident, it was unclear what prompted the emergency trip to hospital, but it now appears the 46-year-old is being treated for pancreatitis – an inflammation of the pancreas that causes abdominal pain – which, according to E! News, doctors believe was triggered by a recent colonoscopy.
People adds that Barker was suffering from “extreme stomach pain” and “could barely walk” before he was hospitalised. “Kourtney won’t leave his side,” the publication’s source said, noting Barker is “getting the best care at Cedars.” Doctors are trying to figure out what is causing the pain by performing several tests and have put him on a modified diet.
“Kourtney was worried yesterday. They both were,” the source continued.
After Barker entered the hospital, his 16-year-old daughter Alabama asked her Instagram followers to “send your prayers” for her dad. The teen later uploaded a photo of herself holding his hand in the hospital bed, before quickly deleting the post.
Barker’s health scare comes a little over a month since he and Kardashian tied the knot in Portofino, Italy. According to E! News, it’s been bliss since: they’ve spent the time since their wedding “settling into life as newlyweds.”
A source said at the time, Kardashian “has been radiating pure happiness since getting back from Italy. She loves that it’s official and says it was one of the best weeks of her life.”
Here’s hoping Barker is out of hospital and back to the honeymoon stage soon.
