Dark Wonderland, a retrospective exhibition canvassing the career of one of Australia’s most accomplished contemporary fashion designers Toni Maticevski, is slated to open next month at Bendigo Art Gallery

Over the course of a career spanning twenty years, Maticevski has carved out for himself a unique place on the Australian fashion landscape with his signature blend of couture craftsmanship, innovative textiles and inventive silhouettes culminating most recently in a tour de force opening show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2016.

The forthcoming exhibition will mine Maticevski’s extensive personal archive, from his earliest creations to his more recent offerings and collaborations with the Phillip Adams Ballet Lab, the Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and other labels like Dinosaur Designs and Ryan Storer, all of which has elevated the designer into a well-deserved place into the rarefied pantheon of Australian fashion greats.

Maticevski: Dark Wonderland opens at Bendigo Art Gallery on August 13 and will conclude on November 20. You can find out more information here
