Tom Hiddleston has finally joined Instagram, jumping into the fray as @twhiddleston in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
With Hiddleswift currently apart (he’s filming the latest Thor instalment in Queensland while Taylor has been spotted out and about in NYC), Loki must have decided he wants to see his girlfriend’s Instagram stories without having to ask co-star Chris Hemsworth if he can borrow his phone in between takes.
Being as late to the Instagram party as Tom is, there was added pressure for his all-important first post. But rather than uploading an arty shot to pop his Insta-cherry, he went for a slighty dad-ish selfie in his Loki costume, doing a sign of the horns and winking. If he’d asked us, we would have suggested a selfie with Chris Hemsworth, or maybe a pic of Taylor with the caption ‘Missing bae’, but whatever, he’s got the first one out the door now, and the pressure is off.
He’s certainly late to join the app but Tom’s catching up quickly, having already amassed more than 250,000 followers. It’s no 88 million like his girlfriend, but give him time.
So far, Tom is not following a single other account. Surely couple social media etiquette says the first person he follows should be Taylor? We’ll be watching.
