Take note, just in case you ever find yourself face-to-face with Tom Hiddleston: he has run out of patience for questions about Taylor Swift.
The British star has a slew of high profile films coming up, including Kong: Skull Island and Thor: Ragnarok, and split from Taylor six months ago, so it’s understandable that he might be growing tired of talking about the romance that was.
When asked by the UK’s Telegraph this week if he regretted “the publicity and gossip the romance engendered,” the normally affable Hiddleston couldn’t hide his irritation, “testily” replying “What should I regret, in your mind? I would rather not talk about this, if that’s alright.”
According to the publication, the 36-year-old took “a long pause, with his hand on his chin,” before explaining why he no longer wants to talk about his ex-girlfriend, who he dated for about three months until they split in September last year.

“I’m just thinking about this. Everyone is entitled to a private life. I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment, and in my mind I don’t conflict the two. My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life,” he explained. “And those two things are separate.”
It should be acknowledged that Tom handled the public interest in his relationship with Taylor with grace and patience in the months following the break-up. In a recent GQ magazine profile, he was even generous enough to explain why her wore that ‘I heart T.S.’ singlet at Taylor’s 4th of July party at her Rhode Island home – in a nutshell, to protect his pale British skin from the sun and have “a joke among friends”.
In the same interview, he paid tribute to Taylor and elaborated on why their relationship became so public so quickly.
“We decided to go out for dinner, we decided to travel … [but] a relationship in the limelight…A relationship always takes work. And it’s not just the limelight. It’s everything else.”
“Taylor is an amazing woman. She’s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time.”
And that’s all he has to say about that.
