“I’ve done my makeup in cars…in port-a-potties,” laughs Kendall Jenner, flapping around concealer-covered fingers. Port-a-loo touch ups for the supermodel? We are shook. And the bombshells don’t stop there. Looking into the camera warts and all — aka insignificant uneven skin tone and a slight smattering of splotches — Kendall is refreshingly down-to-earth doing her beauty routine for Vogue USA.
Funny, cheeky and fresh-faced, Kenny runs through her beauty routine, and whilst it may come as a surprise, Kendall Jenner actually does her own makeup. Perhaps even more shocking, she’s actually very good at it. And just to add further fire to the beauty equation, Kenny does it in world-record time (for a celebrity, anyway) — clocking in at a staggering and very un-supermodel like two minutes. “I learn a lot from being on set,” Kendall explains.
Whilst Jenner has copped some serious slack as of late, it seems her beauty routine is almost faultless, and for the most part, achievable. Here are the five things we learnt from the tutorial that was.
She uses her fingers to blend concealer
No brush or sponge here, Kendall dots concealer on her chin, around the nose, under the eye and in the middle of the forehead, and then proceeds to blend with fingers. An age-old adage of makeup artists, the warmth of the fingers leads to smooth coverage and seamless blending.
her sisters saved her eyebrows
Who would have thought Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Kylie came to Kendall’s beauty rescue? But alas, they did. Brow cape on, it was her sisters that essentially “saved” her brows. “When I was, like, 14, having thin eyebrows was the cool thing, so I literally plucked them all off,” she explains, simultaneously filling in her now much fuller arches with Estée Lauder’s The Brow Multi-Tasker. “My sisters yelled at me and threw out all the tweezers in the house. I’ve never touched them myself ever since.”
she pinches her bronzer brush
Referring to bronzer as her “favourite part”, it’s not so much the bronzer she uses, but a nifty trick in its application. “I kind of pinch it, to make it even thiner,” she explains, pinching the bristles of the brush into a cone shape and dusting across cheeks with precision.
she dabs lipstick on
“I don’t fully put lipstick on; I take it and then dab it just to enhance my own colour,” she notes, and proceeds to dab the lipstick pigment onto the centre of her lip. After some serious tap-a-tap-a-tap-a action, a soft stain appears, which Jenner bulks up with a shiny pink gloss: “I like having gloss, instead of just matte.” Considering Kylie’s entire makeup empire was built upon matte liquid lipstick, it’s a Jenner beauty paradox, indeed.

A nifty trick to contour eyes and create shadow, Kendall multi-tasks her makeup (thrifty, isn’t she?), draping bronzer across lids as well for the ultimate bronzed guise.
