BYRON BAY, AUSTRALIA: The year was 2007. Britney Spears had just shaved her head, Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz were dating, the last Harry Potter book was published and Anna Nicole Smith sadly passed away from an accidental overdose. On home soil, those pint-sized twins The Veronicas served up a catchy little tune titled “Untouched”.

The track, released after “4ever”, “When It All Falls Apart” and “Hook Me Up”, captured the noughties teen’s heart to a tee; lovelorn, emo, angsty and pining for a crush they couldn’t have. On the weekend at this year’s Splendour In The Grass, Jess and Lisa Origliasso stormed Allday’s stage to revive “Untouched” and all its feelings. The Adelaide rapper brought the track into 2019 with a verse prior to the twins breaking out and giving the performance of the festival. From all accounts, the screams for The Veronicas were the loudest of the weekend.

It’s not the first time the two acts have collaborated. Recently they teamed up to cover “Big Yellow Taxi” for Triple J’s Like A Version.
