When you own a multinational beachwear brand, summer holidaying is entrenched. It becomes not only part of your brand DNA, but your own, and for the founder and designer of Australian resort powerhouse, Suboo, Sue Di Chio knows a thing or two about the summer vacation. A self-confessed beauty addict, here Di Chio tells us exactly what she packs when she chases the sun.
What skincare do you pack?
I love Aspect and Cosmedix products, I find I’m better with my skincare regime on holidays as I have more time to put on a face and hair mask whilst reading a magazine and relaxing.
What’s your in-flight beauty routine?
Bare face, lots of moisturiser, lip balm and hand cream, and plenty of water. ( I get so dry on the plane ) Inevitably, I do have one glass of champagne as soon as I board, I close my eyes, take a deep breathe and think of my final destination.
What’s your number one travel tip?
I separate swimwear, lingerie, tops, accessories, into bags so I can find them and unpack easily when I arrive. Over the last few years I take more options than I need!
What’s your favourite spot overseas to stock up on beauty?
Selfridges in London, so many brands that we don’t get in Australia. My hubby finds it hard to pull me out of any beauty stores. I’m obsessed with products. I worked for Estée Lauder when I was 18 and had every product!
Are you going away this winter – if so, where and what will you be packing?
Yes I’m off to Bali in 2 weeks, I have two little boys aged 4 & 2.5 so short trips to Fiji & Bali have been our twice yearly destinations. I’ve already started packing. Im loving red at the moment and the chase One-Piece Frill Swimsuit, the Deep Parasdio Scoop Bikini which is our ultra-luxe knitted stripex swim with lurex. Our Be Mine Lace White Mini Dress is really feminine and for around the pool I live in our Tulum Beach Shirt and Years From Now Kaftan. Owning a resort and swim brand has its advantages. I love packing and dressing for holidays, I have an entire section of a wardrobe dedicated to holiday dresses, I bought an eight drawer burau just to store my swimwear.
