The world is still struggling to come to terms with the incomprehensible tragedy that occurred in New Zealand on Friday, when a white supremacist shot dead 49 people and injured at least 20 more at two Christchurch mosques in act of terror.
World leaders and celebrities have shared their shock and condolences at the cold-blooded murder of Muslim worshippers at Friday morning prayer.
May their words be a reminder of all those who are united against violence, hate and racism.
Michelle and I send our condolences to the people of New Zealand. We grieve with you and the Muslim community. All of us must stand against hatred in all its forms.

The killings in New Zealand are so horrific and heartbreaking. This white supremacist terrorist movement is so destructive here and abroad. We need to unite against it.

More heartbreaking and enraging news, my deepest sympathy to those lost in another racist bigoted killing in New Zealand

40 dead in NZ.
Senseless, pointless, cruel deaths.
My heart breaks for all the families involved, and for the beautiful people of New Zealand to whose hearts this pain will attach, for a long time.

So heart-wrenching to see what has just happened in Christchurch. May God bless the souls who came to the mosque to worship Him in peace. What madness is now spreading? May God’s Garden be their next stop. pic.twitter.com/eLLqXbSDfv

What has happened in Christchurch is an extraordinary act of unprecedented violence. It has no place in New Zealand. Many of those affected will be members of our migrant communities – New Zealand is their home – they are us.

Friends,
Morning (Friday) is Jummah, the weekly day of worship for our community of Muslim friends and loved ones.
Be there for them. Check in. Perhaps extend a kind gesture at your local mosque.
There is so much fear and hate.
We must negate it with active, courageous love.

My heart is broken. My country is weeping and so am I. I am dying knowing that this kind of hatred can happen in my homeland. All my love goes out to Christchurch, the victims, the families, the Muslim community, and all who have chosen our islands as their home. This is not us.

Hate is NOT an option!! Every life lost is a loss for ALL of us!! Praying for the lives taken in New Zealand but praying equally for the ones left behind. ❤️

It’s hard to process the unimaginable horror perpetrated against the Muslim community in New Zealand & the Islamophobia it represents. There are no easy answers to out of control gun-violence, but one thing is clear: “Thoughts and Prayers” just ain’t cuttin’ it. 💔
