It seems even Teresa Palmer has fallen for the Barbiecore trend. As the hype surrounding the upcoming Barbie movie hits fever pitch in the lead up to its release, the iconic Mattel doll’s signature hot pink hue has permeated fashion and beauty in a major way. From bright co-ord sets to fuchsia lip looks, the trend has been influencing the looks of a number of celebrities – and now Palmer has provided a masterclass in Barbiecore cool, with a showstopping neon pink and sherbet winged eye.

Attending Dior‘s VIP party in celebration of its fragrance Gris, Palmer opted to put a punky spin on her elegant attire from the luxury house. Her ladylike black Dior top and skirt set was offset by her edgy beauty look, which featured the standout Barbie-esque eye makeup. Palmer’s makeup artist Jo Baker used a combination of fizzy orange and pink shadows from her own brand, Bakeup Beauty, to create the winged cat-eye effect, grounded by a glossy nude lip and lots of lashes.

Posting about the star’s makeup on Instagram, Baker revealed that Barbie was indeed the inspiration for Palmer’s fun look. She wrote that Palmer’s “Barbie doll” cat-eye look was “heavily inspired by all the @barbie movie promo and content I’m seeing on the gram… we wanted to add a neon punch to this classic black @dior two-piece to add a modern and fresh fun blast of color!!”

Palmer’s makeup look was complemented by an equally edgy hairstyle, with hairstylist Barb Thompson twisting the actor’s long locks up into a piecey, textured top knot. The style effortlessly showcased Palmer’s recent hair transformation, which saw the Lights Out star go from her signature blonde hue to a stunning shade of coppery-red.

Definitely one to add to your party makeup moodboard.
