This week America celebrated the 4th of July Independence Day holiday, which means it’s been a year since Taylor Swift’s infamous Taymerica bash.

Unfortunately for fans glued to social media hoping for a repeat of last year’s drama, there was nothing but tumbleweeds from Tay and most of her squad.

Swift has been M.I.A recently as she reportedly works on a new album, and tries to undo some of the damage from how overexposed she was in 2016 thanks to her personal dramas with Calvin Harris, Kimye and Tom Hiddleston.

But the main reason for Taylor’s decision not to throw a 4th of July party this year is most likely her new relationship: she’s believed to be dating British actor Joe Alwyn.

According to reports, Swift wants to keep her relationship with Alwyn as private as possible in an effort to escape the intense attention of her fans and the public, which undoubtedly played a part in the demise of her relationships with Calvin and Tom.

After what happened with Tom Hiddleston, they were determined to keep it quiet,” an insider told the Sun.

Which means no celebrity-packed parties within full view of the paparazzi, awkward couple photos posted on Instagram, or ‘I Heart T.S.’ singlets this year.

No one must be more disappointed than Ruby Rose, who proved her fierce dedication to Taylor by savaging her arch nemesis Katy Perry and didn’t even get a 4th of July party invitation for her troubles. That we know of, obviously. Taylor might have thrown one and it could be Hollywood’s best kept secret.
