Taylor Swift is already one of the most beloved pop artists in recent years. After enormous success with All Too Well: The Short Film, 14-minute product written and directed by Swift, the 32-year-old is looking to add to her filmmaking resumé with an upcoming feature.

In a press release shared by Searchlight Pictures over the weekend, it was announced that Swift penned an original script which will be produced by the studio. Additional details are set to be revealed in due course.

“Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey,” said Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield.

It feels like a natural progression for the artist. At the 2022 VMAs, the “Anti-Hero” singer became the only solo artist ever to be honoured with two Best Direction awards for her work on All Too Well: The Short Film and The Man. She is the first artist ever to win three Video of the Year awards and only the second female to direct the winning video for Best Longform Video (All Too Well: The Short Film). Swift is an 11-time Grammy winner and the only female artist in Grammy history to win their most prestigious award, Album of the Year, three times.

The 32-year-old released her latest studio album Midnights to critical acclaim this year as she continues to re-record her older hit albums, dubbed “Taylor’s Version”. It is not known when we might see this upcoming feature, perhaps in late 2023 or 2024, as she prepares to embark on her Eras World Tour next year.
