Swarovski is no stranger to Golden Goose, emblazoned on different styles and as part of the brand’s Co-Creation offering. So it’s only natural that this season the Swarovski Creators Lab has collaborated with the Italian streetwear collective for a limited-release collection, introducing two glittering iterations of the Golden Goose Super-Star sneaker.
Inspired by the skate scene in Los Angeles, California, the Super-Star was the first sneaker to feature the brand’s iconic star – a design concept that was imagined during a trip to Venice Beach skatepark. For this partnership, the original silhouette has been transformed with hundreds of crystals, and in two hues, just in time for the holiday season.
The pink colourway is handcrafted in pink suede with a star in white leather, heel tabs and inserts in ice suede, and an all-over embellishment of pink crystals in different sizes lending a tactile effect. Similarly the second handmade pair is crafted in white leather with suede stars, heel tabs and inserts, and an all-over embellishment of clear crystals.
To accompany the sneakers is a unique skateboard – a collectable art piece – with a crystallised design inspired by the Golden Goose flag. The top features a subtle crystallised band with the Swarovski and Golden Goose wordmarks, while the underside is a blaze of Swarovski Crystals in a graphic interpretation of the Golden Goose Flag in clear, gray, and black crystals.
The collaboration is available now in extremely limited numbers. The skateboard is limited to just 10 pieces while the pink sneakers (limited to only 100 pairs) will be available exclusively on swarovski.com and in select Swarovski stores. The white sneakers (limited to 250 pairs) will be available online and in select stores from Swarovski and Golden Goose.
