Once the unofficial uniform of schoolies week wannabes and surfers’ towel-holding GFs (they’re not ideal if you’re actually the one riding waves, unless industrial strength and/or made of double-knotted rope), the anklet – in multiple incarnations – has become the right kind of style statement again. Lanvin and Esteban Cortez were amongst brands to send models down their runways with jingling foot adornments this season, as did Valentino during its last Haute Couture show. Miranda Kerr’s taken to wearing a delicate gold chain at pretty much every red carpet event she hits up recently (how very Aussie beach vix of her), while Rihanna prefers hers less subtle and Bella Thorne’s anklet tastes fall somewhere in between the two.
