Julia Fox’s TikTok has it all: apartment tours, fashion hacks and, of course, the socio-political hot takes she’s known and loved for.
In her latest video, the Uncut Gems star addressed what she referred to as one of her “biggest pet peeves”: the question of whether men should be expected to pay on a first date with a woman.
In response to a user’s comment that read, “Feminism goes out the window when … you have to pay on the first date,” Fox said, “When we go out on a date, you wanna feel good and you wanna feel like a man having a hot, sexy date on your arm, right?”
“And you know what? As a woman, I’m gonna do that for you. I’m gonna take the time and put in the hours to do my hair and do my makeup and maybe even go buy a cute little outfit to look cute for you,” she continued. “And then when the bill comes, the least you could do is pay for it. You don’t have to do all the things that we do, okay? So shut the f*ck up and pay for the bill.”
What Fox didn’t mention, but could have, is the gender pay gap which means women on average are learning less than men. This in itself, if a man is a feminist, should prompt them to step forward and offer to take care of the bill. Of course, many women will insist on splitting it evenly, but the offer? Still cute and brownie-point-worthy, if you ask me.

Though given Fox has said she’s “done” with both dating and having sex, she probably doesn’t care about how her comments may be perceived by men. “I want to be left alone,” Fox said in a recent interview with ELLE when referencing the opposite sex.
“Like, don’t talk to me, don’t look at me, don’t bother me,” she added, before picking up her vape.
