Shia LaBeouf and Margaret Qualley

Over already. Shia LaBeouf and Margaret Qualley have reportedly broken up— just a few weeks after the actor’s ex, FKA Twigs, sued him for sexual assault and battery, according to PEOPLE.

“They broke up on Saturday,” the insider told the publication. “They’re just in different places in their lives.”

The Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood star was apparently aware of the “backlash” she had received for dating with the troubled 34-year-old. According to Us Weekly, Qualley’s loved ones were very concerned about her involvement with the problematic performance artist who has been arrested multiple time and accused of violence. The 26-year-old’s mother, actress Andie MacDowell, was said to be “keeping an extremely close watch on the situation.”

The two were first linked after they starred together (naked!) in Qualley’s sister Rainey’s NSFW music video for her song “Love Me Like You Hate Me.” They were spotted packing on the PDA at LAX airport on Saturday, December 19. For the next few weeks, the Emmy nominated actress and the Disturbia star were regularly seen out and about in Los Angeles together.

In FKA Twigs’ lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, the avant-garde singer accused LeBeouf of “relentless abuse” and infliction of emotional distress. She detailed incidents where her ex once woke up her up the middle of the night by choking her, and then on the way home, he drove recklessly and threatened to crash the car. The 32-year-old also said that LaBeouf threw her against the car at a gas station, screamed at her, and then forced her back inside.

Twigs — whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett — additionally alleged that the Even Stevens alum knowingly passed on an STD to her and covered it with makeup to keep the condition from her.

“Tragically, Tahliah later learned that she was not the first person that LaBeouf had transmitted his disease to,” the papers stated. “Tahliah discovered that at least one other woman that LaBeouf had been in a relationship with had contracted the disease from him, and that he had engaged in similar attempts to hide his condition from that person while engaging in sexual relations.”

The English musician — who dated LaBeouf for one year — warned that his “reckless disregard for the health and safety of his partners makes him a danger to women everywhere.”

“What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I’ve ever been through in the whole of my life,” she told The New York Times. “I don’t think people would ever think that it would happen to me. But I think that’s the thing. It can happen to anybody.”

Following Twigs’ bombshell claims, Sia also came forward about working with the problematic performance artist.

“I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia, a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single. I believe he’s very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims. Just know, if you love yourself- stay safe, stay away,” she wrote on Twitter on Saturday, December 12. “I love you ⁦@FKAtwigs⁩. This is very courageous and I’m very proud of you.”

Karolyn Pho, a stylist who also dated LaBeouf, detailed her time with the Disney alum. Pho claims LaBeouf pinned her to a bed and head-butted her, leading her to bleed.

“So much goes into breaking down a man or woman to make them OK with a certain kind of treatment,” she said.

LaBeouf’s Pieces of a Woman costar, Vanessa Kirby also stated that she stood “with all survivors of abuse and respect the courage of anyone who speaks their truth.”

In response to the allegations, the Fury actor is now seeking long-term inpatient treatment and released a statement apologising for his actions.

“I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behaviour made them feel,” he said. “I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalisations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”

As for Qualley, who previously dated SNL star Pete Davidson, she is reportedly “ready to get back to work” as she will soon head to Canada to begin filming a movie alongside Margot Robbie.
