Selena Gomez has returned to social media to ask fans to be kinder, following her and Hailey Bieber’s most recent drama that prompted Gomez to go offline and her fans to cyberbully Bieber with the justification that Bieber herself is a bully.

Gomez jumped on TikTok to post a video, then added two comments on it, asking above all that people be mindful and more considerate of other people’s mental health.

“Thank you and love you all so much. I’m deeply grateful for each and every one of you humans. You make me unbelievably happy,” she wrote, before adding, “Please, please be kinder and consider others mental health. My heart has been heavy, and I only want good for everyone. All my love.”

When Bieber went on the Call Her Daddy podcast last year, she spoke about the impact that hate from Gomez’s fans had on her mental health, saying at one point it made her seriously depressed. “When things can get really dark, and you can start having thoughts of, like, it not being worth it anymore or not wanting to be here anymore, which I have had before in the past,” the model said at the time.

A day after Bieber’s interview dropped, Gomez told fans, “I think some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting. And it’s not fair because no one ever should be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen and all I have to say is it’s incredibly ironic that I would release something that is all about kind words [her makeup line Rare Beauty’s Kind Words range]  ‘cause that’s exactly what I want. That’s it. If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means and that is words matter. Truly matter.”

She continued, “So it’s coming from me, and I just want all of you to know that I hope that you understand that this is much bigger than anything else. I’m really grateful to all of you for hearing me out, so have a wonderful rest of your day, and I appreciate all the love. Thank you.”

To get across the most recent drama that prompted Gomez to speak out again, head here for a complete timeline, but essentially fans on TikTok speculated that Bieber and Kylie Jenner had been bullying Gomez. Gomez seemingly confirmed as much when she began commenting on posts about Bieber being a bully, before going offline, leaving her fans to run wild and fill Bieber’s social media with hate.

In another interesting update, photographer Tyrell Hampton seems to have deleted the viral ‘plot twist’ Instagram he posted of the two women last year that was meant to show their truce.
