Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber put rumours of an ongoing feud to bed when the women posed together in a photo op, for the first time, at the Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles last month. It had even captured the attention of fellow celebrities when Ava Philippe, daughter to Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe, reacted to the news on social media.

“I’m not one to get wrapped up in celeb drama & at the end of the day, it’s really just a pic (& none of my business!) But it does make me smile to see these boss babes out there setting the record straight. Love + respect for you both!,” she wrote in an Instagram story.

Gomez has since responded to all the hysteria in an interview with Vulture, but her recollection on moment is far different to ours. “It’s not a big deal. It’s not even a thing,” she told the publication. We suspect she’s probably sick of discussing the entire saga to begin with.

At the time the photo was taken a source for E! News revealed that Gomez and Bieber, “wanted to show that there’s really no hate between them and that they are both in a good place. It was a moment and an opportunity to put all of the noise behind them and they took it.”

The news arrived after Bieber took to the Call Her Daddy podcast to respond to claims she cheated with Justin all those years ago. “When him and I started hooking up, or anything of that sort, he was not in any relationship,” she said. “It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship, I was raised better than that.”

Gomez will now be the subject of a tell-all Apple TV+ documentary My Mind & Me where she give viewers an insight into her mental health journey. Out on November 4.
