When (almost all of) the cast of Sex and the City returned to our screens for the reboot series And Just Like That, no one was expecting for one of its most beloved characters to be swiftly killed off, and then, far more seriously, for the actor to be embroiled in sexual assault allegations.

Following Chris Noth reviving his role as Mr Big, multiple women accused the actor of sexual assault with instances reportedly taking place in both 2010 and 2015. In the wake of the allegations, Noth was fired from his role on The Equalizer and was cut from upcoming scenes in And Just Like That. A few days later, his co-stars on the iconic franchise, Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis, released a joint statement, writing they were ‘deeply saddened’ by the claims and ‘support the women’ who came forward.

Now, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter’s New York Issue, Parker has revealed she hasn’t spoken to her former co-star since the allegations came to light. During the conversation, the interviewer asked, “As And Just Like That premiered, two women publicly accused your co-star Chris Noth of sexual misconduct — allegations that he denies. As a producer, what was your reaction?”

“I don’t even know if I’m ready to talk about it, but I don’t think … I wasn’t reacting as a producer,” Parker responded. “I should have worked on this because I’m just … it’s just…,” she said, before trailing off.

When directly asked if she’d spoken to Noth following the claims, Parker responded simply, “No.”

Parker then addressed the criticism of AJLT, which has been renewed for a second season, despite the negative response (which, if you ask me, is somewhat overblown. Give the girls a break!) “Obviously, we’re aware that people have opinions, and there will be peripheral chatter specific to the HBO show,” she said.

“We care that they’re engaged and enjoying it, flipped out, upset, thrilled, devastated, but you can’t have a result in mind and then try to back into it with the writing. That would just be awful. And that would be like riding a bike with a gang of 10 million.”
