The 2022 American Music Awards were jam-packed with big celebrity moments, including a jaw-dropping red carpet appearance from Sabrina Carpenter.

Dressed in a glittering two-piece set from Oscar de la Renta, Carpenter looked like an absolute bombshell. But it’s the hair and makeup we can’t stop staring at.

The 23-year-old pop star’s blonde hair was full and bouncy, while the makeup epitomised early ’90s glamour. Makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez used predominantly Giorgio Armani products, painting a hyper-glossy eye and chocolate brown lip framed with dark liner. The contrast gave it an ombre effect, and while we have no doubt it was high maintenance (the shine though!) it looked incredible and is a look we 100% plan to copy this season. Gonzalez didn’t share the exact liner, but the lip shade is Lip Power in 204. Admittedly it’s tricky to find online, but 203 looks like a similar caramel-taupe shade.

Aside from looking phenomenal, Carpenter was in attendance to promote her recently-released fifth studio album ‘Emails I Can’t Send‘. She also presented Taylor Swift with the award for favourite music video, where the stark height difference between the two turned into a viral internet moment — for reference, Carpenter is 5’0″ whereas Swift is around the 5’10” mark.

From the bombshell blow-out to the incredible makeup, Carpenter’s AMAs look is one that hits all the right notes – and has us convinced that supermodel-era dark lip liner is having a resurgence.
