Congrats are in order for Romee Strijd and her longtime love, Laurens van Leeuwen, after the pair recently announced their engagement. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel shared the happy news to her Instagram with the caption “I said YES”, alongside a series of sweet snaps from the moment van Leeuwen got down on one knee and popped the question.
The pair had embarked on a fun-filled getaway to the Swiss Alps, with van Leeuwen choosing to propose to Strijd during a romantic champagne picnic in the snow. In shots shared by the pair, Strijd wore a chic white and black snowsuit and was surrounded by a backdrop of the snow-capped Switzerland mountain ranges.
Van Leeuwen presented the Dutch model with a sizeable engagement ring, which featured a round brilliant cut diamond and two-tone setting with three pavé diamonds alongside the center stone. According to People, the ring was designed by Ring Concierge Fine Jewelry and the pavé diamonds are its “Whisper Thin Trio”.
“The couple had a trip planned to Switzerland to celebrate their 12th anniversary so Laurens decided that was the perfect opportunity to surprise Romee with her dream ring,” Ring Concierge Fine Jewelry founder Nicole Wegman told the publication.
