In the last couple of years Rihanna has taken a step back from music to focus on the fashion industry, taking her uncanny knack for knowing what’s cool, and transforming it into a multi-million dollar empire: Fenty. In September she unveiled her latest lingerie collection; now, she’s revealed a surprise second collaboration with cult shoe designer Amina Muaddi.

Muaddi’s range of square-toed embellished heels quickly became a favourite among the Instagram crowd following the brand’s launch in 2018—everyone from Kendall Jenner to Rosie Hungtington-Whiteley and Caroline Daur owns a pair. Rihanna was among Muaddi’s earliest A-list supporters, and in July of this year she revealed the first Fenty x Amina Muaddi collaboration. Following that collections’ mass success (every piece sold out in a matter of days), the pair have decided to partner up for a second time.

This second collection is even more glamorous than the first—featuring wrap-up sandals with interwoven satin and crystal-embellished straps. Another style, dubbed the ‘Corset Pump’, features lace-up detail and a perspex finish—while the ‘Don’t Be A Square’ slingback harkens back to the glory days of ‘Old Celine’, featuring a square toe and finished in soft white leather.

Granted, occasions for outrageously OTT sandals feel few and far between right now—but hasn’t the point of fashion always been escapism? Besides, once we’re allowed out dancing again, we can scarcely think of a pair of shoes we’d rather wear than those designed by Queen Rih herself. Prices start at $680 USD, and products are available exclusively at Fenty.com.
