Just as Riccardo Tisci continuously revved and re-imagined the fashion equation throughout his 12-year tenure at Givenchy, he also prompted countless revolutions in the beauty world too. Working closely with his backstage dream team, often led by fashion week legends Pat McGrath on the make-up and Guido Palau or Luigi Mureno directing the hair, the Italian designer’s signature blend of edginess, art and androgyny was infused into the beauty looks that came down the runway season after season. Embellishments reached new heights, eyes were often a focus and hair gel became cool again. Plus anyone willing to bleach Cara Delevingne’s famous eyebrows into transparent oblivion has guts. Here, we track the most memory-making beauty looks to hit the catwalk during Tisci’s term.

Park punk, part Victoriana, Luigi Murenu expertly coiled the model’s real hair into rosettes before blasting it them with temporary blue, pink, orange, purple and black dye.

Fashion editors were salivating over the though high boots that season, while beauty editors were eulogising Cara’s eyebrows internally. The next-level results were worth it, and Delevingne’s arches were resurrected to their former glory after the show. Win, win
