Following his Best Actor win for Bohemian Rhapsody, we’ve been waiting to see what Rami Malek would do next. Now, we know.

The news dropped overnight that the Oscar winner is set to play the lead villain opposite Daniel Craig in the next James Bond film, due for release in April 2020.

“I will be making sure Mr Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this his 25thouting,” Malek assured in a video announcing the news.

The latest film in the iconic franchise, known only as ‘Bond 25’, will also star Lea Seydoux, reprising her role as Dr. Madeleine Swann from the previous Bond movie Spectre, Ben Whishaw as Q., Ralph Fiennes as M. and Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny.

Spectre‘s Rory Kinnear and Jeffrey Wright, who appeared in Quantum of Solace, are also returning, while newcomers include Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Billy Magnussen (Game Night), Dali Benssalah, Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) and David Dencik (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).

Malek would have had his pick of film roles after his Academy Award winning portrayal of Freddie Mercury, and there’s no question he has chosen wisely.
