It’s the rule of breakup law. No, not the one where you post a cryptic Maya Angelou quote on Instagram along the lines of “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” (Although Khloe Kardashian did lead us all on with some puzzling posts of late.) We’re referring to the Kardashian-Jenner number one post-breakup rule; post your sexiest selfie. And, in the case that you’re holed up at Kris Jenner’s place with a Calabasas Chef Salad and a mango greentini, re-post a throwback of a time when a magazine shot you at your finest.
Yes, pictorial evidence will show that while Scott and Tyga party is Cannes and Kanye and Lamar chill courtside, Kourtney, Khloe and Kylie give their best selfie game knowing their ex-boyfriends, and the world, are watching. Take a look at their best.
Kourtney Kardashian
When Kourtney and partner of nine years and father to her three children, Scott Disick, split in October 2015, Kardashian fans felt for the then 36-year-old. She was a new mum to third child, Reign, and her now ex-partner was seen hanging (and snuggling) with his ex-girlfriend, Chloe Bartoli in Monte Carlo. While her first Instagram was a picture of her and sister Khloe at a shooting range captioned “Don’t mess” – a telling message to Scott – the eldest Kardashian daughter threw herself into exercise and a series of selfies followed. The reality television star looked the best she’d ever looked and Scott knew it too. Unfortunately though, it was too late. She was reportedly tired of his partying ways and, to prove two can definitely play at the flaunting game, Kourtney appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show where she tried to deny the rumours she and Justin Bieber were more than friends. These pictures were all posted within a month of the break-up.
Ten months on and proving she and Scott can still get along, Kourtney attended his birthday this week, but not before she instagrammed the Kardashian-breakup-critical-throwback.
Khloe Kardashian
It’s been a big week for Khloe Kardashian. Remember the episode where Khloe along with Kris, Bruce (now Caitlyn) and Kim had to pack up Khloe’s house – the one she shared with ex-husband Lamar Odom? The fact she was getting OCD about even throwing away his cigars was a telling sign how much she wished things were different with the NBA star. There was that Complex shoot but proof she’s also a victim to the Kardashian-Jenner breakup law is this latex dress in light of her announcement this week. The 29-year-old filed for divorce from Odom citing “irreconcilable differences”. But there may still be hope for the pair. She recently said on an episode of the Keeping Up that in order for them to move forward, they needed to put their past behind them. Still, nothing said “Look what you’re missing” like this dress at Scott’s 33rd birthday this week. And doesn’t she look incredible?
It just wouldn’t be Khloe though without an aforementioned cryptic post, this one just 24 hours ago:
Kylie Jenner
The youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan has learnt from her older sisters. Amid news she and boyfriend of two years, rapper Tyga, had split in May 2016, Kylie posted two throwbacks within just days of the breakup announcement in arguable her hottest shoot to date.
