Princess Eugenie has married her long-term partner Jack Brooksbank at a star-studded ceremony held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
The 28-year-old cousin of Prince Harry looked elegant on her big day, which was filled with emotional, surprising and funny moments – here are our top five.
- Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress revealed her scoliosis scar
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace regarding Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress, the royal revealed she wanted to show the scar that runs from her neck down to between her shoulders, to reduce stigma for others.
“The low back feature on the dress was at the specific request of Princess Eugenie who had surgery aged 12 to correct scoliosis,” the statement said.
In an interview with Britain’s ITV this week, Eugenie said:
“I think you can change the way beauty is, and you can show people your scars, and I think it’s really special to stand up for that.”
Her off-the-shoulder gown was designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos.
- The mother of the bride, Sarah Ferguson, almost stole the show
If you thought Meghan Markle risked upstaging the bride, think again. It was Princess Eugenie’s mum Sarah Ferguson that almost stole the show, pointing at the crowd and making silly expressions as she arrived in an outrageous hat, which has been compared to the Golden Snitch in Harry Potter.
- Meghan Markle sparked pregnancy speculation
If Meghan Markle is pregnant, we’re sure she and Prince Harry will share the news when they’re good and ready. But we couldn’t help but wonder if she was hiding a baby bump after the Duchess of Sussex arrived in a loose-fitting navy Givenchy coat that concealed her mid-section.
- Prince George was adorable, because of course he was
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were among the page boys and flower girls for the royal wedding, along with other children of royals and friends.
Five-year-old George was his typically adorable self, laughing and giggling at one point during the ceremony.
- Cara Delevingne won the best-dressed guest award (as far as we’re concerned)
Celebrities at the royal wedding included Naomi Campbell, Robbie Williams, Ellie Goulding, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. It was inarguably Cara who won best-dressed guest in a bold, man-style full suit, complete with tie and top hat.
