Recently the world was hashtag blessed with the news another Royal baby is on the way, when Kensington Palace confirmed Kate Middleton is pregnant with her third child.

Many assumed Kate was at the three – four month mark when the news was announced, meaning the baby would be due around April next year.

But Prince William has thrown Royal followers into a frenzy with his comment that he and Kate will welcome their third child “sooner than you think”.

Making an appearance at Spitalfields Crypt Trust this week, a London charity that supports people battling homelessness and addiction, Wills said to a midwife:

“All the best with the midwifery, I may see you sooner than you think,” he said, according to People.

Was it just a throwaway line, one of those weird things that come out of your mouth when you can’t think of anything to say? Or did he just spill the beans that Kate is further along in her pregnancy than we assumed?

Only time – and possibly another hint from the Prince – will tell.

The Royal baby will be the couple’s third child – they’re already parents to Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two.

“Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child,” said a statement when Kate’s pregnancy was announced.

“As with her previous two pregnancies, the Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum … the Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”

Unfortunately Kate’s severe morning sickness meant she had to miss Prince George’s first day at school.
