Fratelli d’Italia,
L’Italia s’è desta,
Dell’elmo di Scipio
S’è cinta la testa.
Dov’è la Vittoria?
Le porga la chioma,
Ché schiava di Roma
Iddio la creò

These are the words of Il Canto degli Italiani, the national anthem of Italy. These were the words sung from the balconies of Brera, the rooftops of Porta Romana, the terraces of Porta Ticinese, as the people of Milan gathered every night, at a distance, to honour their country, a country devastated by Coronavirus.

For Milan’s first lady of fashion, Editor-in-Chief of GRAZIA Italy, Silvia Grilli, this is exactly what she would do every night at 6pm with her daughter, Anna. Dressed in matching knits and masks with powerful statements of patriotism blasted across them, the Grilli girls stood in solidarity with their fellow Italians, #strongertogether.

Here, along with her ‘Postcard from Home’, Grilli sends us amore from her balcony in Milano – and we send our love back. Forza, dear Italia.
