As the summer season emerges in Australia, there is a distinct shift. A dusting of sand can be felt on the inner-city bus route, rooftops open to welcome balmy afternoon tipples and flirtatious sun dresses replace our obsession for jeans and a jumper – thank goodness.

For designer to the celebrities, Poppy Lissiman, the new season has also sparked a collaboration with 1800 Tequila. In turn, the premium spirit brand has emerged for a limited-edition collection where flavour meets fashion. Applying Lissiman’s eye for a bold statement piece and coveted silhouette, she also joins music maverick Manu Crooks, to usher in a three-piece accessories capsule.

A nod to the 1800 Tequila motto, “just refined enough”, wardrobe essentials arrive in the form of a black waist bag with silver chain detailing, bucket hat reading “Mood Forever” and the much-loved 6 panel cap.

Lissiman’s electric aesthetic and punchy design cues are drawn from her experience travelling throughout Mexico in her 20’s. And since, the Poppy Lissiman plaque has been donned on the likes of Georgia May Jagger, Kendall Jenner and even Beyoncè. Queen Bey’ sported the namesake brand in her ‘Black Is King’ music video back in August, 2020.

“For someone who is known for their colour I actually wear a lot of black, so making this piece for 1800 was such a pleasure because it’s very much something I would get a lot of wear with,” Lissiman tells GRAZIA. “I’d pair this piece with my chunky Prada chelsea boots and crisp white shirt dress.”

And if you were to translate this quirky style into a tequila cocktail? Think peach and champagne – trust us, you need to try it. “My style is a little bit left of centre and always comfortable,” she continues. “It translates into a 1800 tequila drink with a certain sense of familiarity that has a bit of a punch and a twist to it.”
