“Our adventure in the Philippines took us to a remote private island in the Sulu Sea known as Huma Island. Huma Island is one out of over 1000 islands stretched between China and the Sulu Seas in the Palawan region.
“On arrival, the view was simply breathtaking. As we entered the reception area, the entire staff were singing ‘Welcome to Huma Island’ and we felt so welcomed immediately. It was a great way meet the team and on such a small island every face becomes a familiar face very quickly, so this greeting was especially intimate.”

“For something a little more active, you can make the most of the natural beauty by doing some scuba diving, snorkelling or hopping between the islands. The pool area at Huma Island connects the pristine beach with the two rows of villas, and we can’t forget the ocean trampoline! Whilst there is a fitness centre on Huma Island, you may want to raise your heart rate with some trampolining in the middle of the ocean.”

“If you’re after some wind-down time, there are plenty of dining venues, spas and bars. Huma Island Resort has a number of restaurants, led by the incredible Executive Chef, Trevor Furner. He started his career in Chelsea, London and has worked with some of the world’s greatest chefs including Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White. Now he runs all the restaurants on Huma Island which include a fine Italian restaurant, a Lebanese restaurant, a poolside cafe, and a wine and cheese bar with a sand floor. He’s also currently working on Huma Island’s new Asian restaurant.
“The restaurants use as much home-grown produce as possible, in fact, the walk to the Lebanese restaurant leads through a beautiful vegetable and herb garden. There’s also a dive center, an incredible infinity pool, private butler services and an over-the-water spa with a glass floor.”
