UPDATE 19/3/18: Tommy Lee wants his son, Brandon Lee, prosecuted for battery. And now, even if he changes his mind, the case has now reached the D.A.’s office which means its out of both parties hands. Brandon will find out soon if he faces criminal charges for – as his father puts it – a suckerpunch tat left the older Lee unconscious. Brandon claims he hit his alcoholic father in self defence.
ORIGINAL: If there’s one thing we warmed to about Brandon Lee when he appeared on our magazine cover last year, it was how highly he spoke of his mum, Pamela Anderson. “She was the busiest lady in the world and she still made it out to my games and made sure she was taking us out surfing at 6.30am every morning, I still don’t know how she did it all,” Lee recalled from a hotel room in Los Angeles, beaming. “She is just so generous.”
When it came to his dad, Tommy, the 21-year-old model and actor was diplomatic. “My dad is such a funny guy,” he began, his tempo slowing. “Every time I needed some manly advice, he’d have a really strong opinion – I’m not sure he was always the best one to ask – but he’s always given me that ‘don’t give a sh*t’ attitude. He’s 55 and he’s still dating 20-year-olds and having the best time ever in terms of living life to the fullest…he’s having a ball right now.”
TMZ reported a physical altercation at the former Mötley Crüe drummer’s house recently where Lee assaulted his drunken father. Tommy profusely denied this on Twitter. “My fiancée and I were in bed when my son busted into the room and assaulted me,” Lee tweeted. “I asked him to leave the house and he knocked me unconscious. He ran away from the police. THAT’S the truth.”
Lee has issued a statement explaining his side: “I’m devastated at the events of the last several days that have been a result of my father’s alcoholism,” he told People. I’ve worked tirelessly organising an intervention and it’s incredibly upsetting that it never came to fruition. I wanted my dad’s hopeful sobriety and recovery to be a private family matter but, as a result of his accusations on social media, I feel forced to speak out. I have and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as needed. I love my father and just want to see him sober, happy and healthy.”
Tommy responded via Twitter in the most awful of ways. “LMAAAO!!!! I’m happier than I’ve been in my entire life.” he wrote. “I have a few drinks here & there because I’m f–kin retired and enjoying my life. I worked 30+ f–kin years I deserve it. You didn’t arrange any intervention, you barely spoke to me while u were here. Just coverin ur ass!!”
Sources close to Lee have claimed the model was defending his mother. Further insight suggests this to be true as Tommy took to Twitter to publicly attack his ex-wife for an interview she did with Piers Morgan on the weekend. In it, she referred to Tommy’s 1998 arrest for spousal battery in which Tommy didn’t contest and went to prison for six months.
“@piersmorgan ur interviews w/Donald Trump & my ex-wife are pathetic!” Tommy posted to Twitter on Monday. “Think she’d find something new to discuss instead of rehashing old shit but I guess she has nothing else going on & needs attention. Signed, “The abuser” (who she texts everyday and asks for me back).”
Morgan responded. “Morning Tommy! Lovely to hear from you, I’m not responsible for what Pamela told me about your marriage so I suggest you take it up with her …”
Tommy replied: “I suggest you don’t interview her. Are you that desperate for people to interview? She literally has NOTHING going on so she brings up old drama for attention. I’m sure there’s some people better worth your time. Lovely to hear from you too ha.”
The assault allegedly happened that night.
