Nicole Kidman is a Hollywood rarity, boasting a faultless history of red carpet looks that have never failed to impress. Yet, somehow, the actress only gets better and better. Case in point: her appearance at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival over the weekend.
Having seen some monumental sartorial feats grace the carpet this year, it takes a lot to stand out in Venice, but in a flawless Schiaparelli look, Kidman instantly topped the best-dressed list while attending the premiere for her upcoming film, Babygirl, which reportedly received a 6.5 minute-long standing ovation.
The structural gown featured a translucent beige bodice with a hyperextended silk chiffon neckline and hip padding to emphasise an hourglass silhouette. Creating a striking ombre effect, flecks of black sequinned embroidery blended into the velvet column skirt via beaded fringe detailing that dropped from the waist.

From the back, Kidmans’ velvet pumps could be seen via a tactful split.
Allowing the dress to shine, she opted for effortlessly tousled hair and a subtle smokey eye with fresh, dewy skin.

Plucked from Daniel Roseberry’s Fall/Winter 2024 Haute Couture collection, which debuted at Paris Haute Couture Week earlier this year, the dress was a standout choice from the runway.

Also starring Harris Dickinson and Antonio Banderas, the A24 film follows a career woman (Kidman) in her 40s who has an affair with a 21-year-old intern. Shockingly, things take a turn for the worse.
Halina Reijn, director of Bodies Bodies Bodies, is helming the film, which has already received rave reviews and some teasers about Kidman’s raunchy performance.
