The story of the sexual harassment scandal that brought down one of the most powerful men in American television history is coming to the big screen.

A trailer has been released for Bombshell, the film that depicts the 2016 Fox News scandal that engulfed the network’s former CEO and chairman Roger Ailes.

Starring Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie and Charlize Theron, it looks set to be a tale of the post-Me Too era, charting how Fox News hosts Gretchen Carlson and Megyn Kelly’s accusations against Ailes saw him ultimately forced out of the company.

Ailes died a year later in 2017.

Kidman plays Carlson, while Theron is unrecognisable as Kelly. Robbie plays a fictional producer at the network, Kayla Pospisil.

Bombshell also stars John Lithgow as Roger Ailes; Connie Britton as Beth Ailes; Allison Janney as Ailes’s legal counsel Susan Estrich; Kate McKinnon as a Fox News employee; and Nazanin Boniadi as former Fox News correspondent Rudi Bakhtiar.

The Fox News sexual harassment scandal was also dramatized in Showtime’s miniseries The Loudest Voice starring Russell Crowe and and Naomi Watts.

Bombshell is out this December. Watch the trailer below.
