She’s been a Hollywood icon for almost 30 years, but Nicole Kidman is enjoying a fresh surge of attention.

Kidman covers the new issue of indie fashion title Love magazine, normally the territory of twenty-something It girls.

Forget the matronly, conservative looks pushed on women of a certain age in Hollywood. The 50-year-old wears a red one-piece swimsuit and a cowboy hat, a faux-fur lined denim jacket slipping off her arms. Unapologetically sexual, Kidman didn’t disguise her nipples visible under the material of the swimsuit.

The cover line reads ‘Up! From disco to dawn’.

In a teaser of the interview (out July 24) Kidman second-guessed her decision to show a side of herself unlike what we’ve come to expect from her in recent years.

“I thought about this shoot afterwards. I was like, what was I doing? I lost my mind! How are the shots? Do they look crazy?”

The Australian icon has been enjoying a renaissance of sorts recently, following her role in HBO series Big Little Lies, which earned her a 2017 Emmy nomination.

Despite almost exclusively making big budget Hollywood films since the nineties, she’s hinted at a second season of Big Little Lies, and also stars in the second season of Top Of The Lake, the eerie detective series set in Bondi Beach starring Elisabeth Moss.
