Lily-Rose Depp has cemented her girl-of-the-moment status via news that she is the face of Chanel’s new fragrance, Chanel No. 5 L’Eau.

The daughter of Johnny Depp and Chanel alumni Vanessa Paradis, already fronts the house’s eyewear campaign, but this marks the first beauty campaign for the teen.

Posting a picture on her Instagram posing with an oversized bottle of Chanel perfume, Depp appeared ever the Parisian-girl muse accessorising her messy ponytail with a Brigitte Bardot-esque ribbon.

Barely able to contain her excitement at the news she gushed: “I am so excited to announce that I am the face of the new Chanel Chanel No.5 L’Eau!”

Chanel also used Instagram to make the news official posting a picture of Depp amongst a rose garden alongside the caption: “The Rose of all Roses. Introducing @lilyrose_depp as the new face of N°5 L’EAU, the new N°5.#newchanel5”

In an offical announcement from the house, Chanel embellished on how the appointment of Lily-Rose will help steer the iconic house in a fresh (read: millennial?) direction. Saying:

She embodies her generation and its values of freedom and boldness to perfection, bringing to the iconic fragrance of the House her youthful freshness and beauty.

Not only does Lily-Rose follow the likes of fellow Chanel fragrance faces Nicole Kidman, Keira Knightley and Gisele Bunchen, but also her mother, French songstress Vanessa Paradis, who starred in the now iconic birdcage-set commercial for Coco by Chanel fragrance in 1992.

It’s set to be a busy summer for Lily-Rose who is set to star in Yoga Hosers directed by Kevin Smith, Planetarium directed by Rebecca Zlotowski, and La danseuse (The Dancer) directed by Stéphanie Di Giusto, which recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

The younger, fresher Chanel N°5 L’EAU will be designed by Chanel’s in-house perfumer Olivier Polge.
