Netflix has officially severed all ties with Kevin Spacey, who has now been accused of sexual harassment by several more people after the initial allegation.

After saying they were “deeply troubled” by the claims and confirming House Of Cards would end after the season currently being filmed, the streaming service has also confirmed they will not release Gore, a Gore Vidal biopic starring Spacey.

“Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey,” the statement said.

“We will continue to work with MRC [Media Rights Capital] during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show.

“We have also decided we will not be moving forward with the release of the film Gore, which was in post-production, starring and produced by Kevin Spacey.”

It’s unclear what the news means for the sixth and final season of House Of Cards, which is currently in production and stars Spacey as the central character.

After Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp told Buzzfeed that Spacey sexually harassed him when he was 14 years old, more people have come forward with similar stories.

In a new Buzzfeed article three more men accuse the actor of being inappropriate, including a journalist who alleges he had to repeatedly reject Spacey’s unwanted sexual advances while writing a magazine profile on him in the early 2000s.

Spacey, who plays Frank Underwood on House Of Cards, has been criticised for his handling of the accusations by Rapp.

In his statement he apologised but also claimed to not recall the encounter, and also came out as gay – a move some say is an attempt to overshadow Rapp’s claims.

“I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor. I’m beyond horrified to hear his story,” his statement read.

“I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago,” it continued.

‘But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.

“As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man. I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behaviour.”

Spacey is seeking “evaluation and treatment” in the wake of the allegations.
