Naomi Campbell has announced that she has entered motherhood. On Tuesday, May 18, the supermodel revealed the news on Instagram with a heartwarming photo of her cradling her newborn’s feet. The caption pinned to the photo read: “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother. So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel.” The 50-year-old, whose birthday is also later this week, continued, “There is no greater love.”

Fans and friends of the top model flooded the comment section with congratulations and well wishes. Queen & Slim star Jodie Turner-Smith commented, “Many many many congratulations to you and to your family — the village that will now rally around you and support you in cultivating that little angel!!!! What an incredible blessing!!!” American fashion powerhouse Marc Jacobs wrote, “Oh my God!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around.” We couldn’t agree with Jacobs more. Talk about the luck of calling a renowned superstar, Mommy!

In the past, Campbell has been very vocal about wanting a family but insisting on it happening on its own. Campbell spoke to Evening Standard about becoming a mother and the possibility of adopting in 2017 saying, “I think about having children all the time.”  She added: “But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.” The Face judge, who runs a Kenyan orphanage named Children of the Rising Sun, also remained transparent with Vogue in 2018 on the subject of kids. “I’d love to have kids. I don’t discount anything in life. I love kids and always will,” she said. “When I’m around children, I become a child myself. That’s the little girl I don’t ever want to lose.”
