Naomi Campbell is the new face of Nars Cosmetics.

The iconic Super will front the Nars Spring 2019 campaign, with the acquisition a particularly momentous coup for the brand: the 48-year-old supermodel has never before fronted a beauty campaign. Ever.

So why now? It’s all in the family, apparently. According to both Campbell and Nars, they’re “family.” “François and I are like family and the same goes for Nars. I am honoured to be a part of such an incredible brand for so long,” she said.

“Very excited to be the new face of NARS Cosmetics, shot by my dear friend François Nars.”

It’s a sentiment echoed by Nars himself, “She and I are like family. I have known her since the very beginning of her career. From the start, I have admired her, her beauty, and her style.”

Born out of deep personal connection, the dream collaboration will see Campbell front the Radiance Repowered range from January 2019, and a new Orgasm campaign later in the year. Lensed by Nars himself, with makeup by celebrity makeup artist James Kaliardos, the first campaign shots have been teased out on Instagram this morning.

As for Naomi’s favourite Nars products, she has a few. Her Nars repertoire includes the Taj Mahal Blush, Translucent Powder, Climax Mascara, Audacious Lipstick Palette in 7 Deadly Sins, Dragon Girl Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Mambo Velvet Eyeliner, she told British Vogue.

“Naomi is a living icon and brings such strong personality to the camera,” adds the makeup legend. And so is Mr. Nars himself. Two living icons together at last; it’s a beauty collaboration worth the wait.
