Despite the downpour, New York showed up for the awe-inspiring Moschino Spring Summer 2022 runway show this morning.
A bright contrast to the gloomy weather, creative director Jeremy Scott showed off a mix of acid brights and sugary pastels — shades of neon yellow, baby pink, pistachio green, mandarin and sky blue. There was butterfly earrings, cute toy-like bags and even Gigi Hadid with a baby’s bottle.
The beauty looked sparked an equal amount of joy. Makeup artist Kabuki layered saccharine shades of peach and candy pink across the cheeks, eyes and lips, while skin was velvety and matte. It was sweet, doll-like and playful — an innocent, butter-wouldn’t-melt type of makeup look.
The scope of hairstyles was far-reaching. Stylist Danilo crafted giant airy bouffants, plus braids that were heavy with bright plastic beads. It was nostalgic and childlike — a throwback to being a kid in the ’90s.
Finally, Nails by Mei used coral, pink and peach shades across each model’s nails. In essence it was playful, cartoonish and decidedly Moschino — exactly the type of theatrics we want to see at one of the first IRL fashion weeks post-pandemic.
