Miranda Kerr flew into Australia this week to be bridesmaid at her brother Matthew’s wedding in the Hunter Valley on Friday.

Spotted arriving in Sydney with her Snapchat founder fiance Evan Spiegel on Thursday, the couple took a private charter north to the Hunter where Matthew married his long-time partner James Wright. Photos published by News.com.au show Miranda dressed in lace as she stands alongside the other bridesmaids (far right).

Miranda’s mother Therese Kerr acted as celebrant, and she told the Daily Telegraph that the Australian government’s failure to legalise gay marriage wasn’t going to stop them.

“We don’t need an Australian government or the law to tell us what love is,” she said.

“We are proud as punch.”

Miranda, 32, has previously spoken out about her wish for Australia to follow in the footsteps of more than twenty nations around the world, including New Zealand, the US and the UK and legalise gay marriage.

“Having a gay brother myself, It’s something that is very close to my heart and which I totally support in every way,” she wrote on her Kora Organics blog in 2011.

“It’s time for Marriage Equality.”
