When Italian designer Stefano Gabbana of fashion giant Dolce and Gabbana commented “é proprio brutta” (which translates into English to ‘She’s so ugly’) on a picture of Selena Gomez on Instagram, the internet went into overdrive.

Miley Cyrus is the latest in a slew of celebrity names to come to Gomez’s defence in light of the seemingly unfounded comment. On a Miley Cryus fan account, the user captioned a photo of the two ex-Disney starlets citing Cyrus had defended Gomez in the scandal. “Well what that d**k said (if it’s true) is f***ing false and total bullsh*t. She’s fine as f**k,” Cyrus commented.

Cyrus of course has endured a long running feud with Gabbana and his business partner Domenico Dolce after the duo’s controversial anti-IVF (they believe its “unnatural) and homophobic comments in 2015. Both men are openly gay. Speaking to Panorama magazine, Dolce remarked, “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one … No chemical offsprings and rented uterus; Life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”).

Tommy Dorfman of 13 Reasons Why was another star to speak out against Gabbana.“@stefanobabbana you’re tired and over. your homophobic, misogynistic, body-shaming existence will not thrive in 2018. it is no longer tolerable or chic. please take many seats,” he posted.

Gomez’s friend, fellow singer Julia Michaels tweeted “@selenagomez just here to tell you that you are one of the most beautiful women I know, inside and out. I love you always.”

Bestie Jamie King also added to the chorus.
