With two weeks to go until the royal wedding, Kensington Palace has announced new details about the most anticipated nuptials of the year.

In a statement, the Palace confirmed Meghan Markle’s father will walk her down the aisle, despite tabloid reports her dad was not even invited to the royal wedding.

“Both of the bride’s parents will have important roles in the wedding,” the statement said.

“On the morning of the wedding, [Meghan’s mum Doria] Ragland will travel with Ms. Markle by car to Windsor Castle. Mr. Markle will walk his daughter down the aisle of St George’s Chapel,” it added.

Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion.”

While Harry has spoken to Meghan’s dad Thomas Markle on the phone several times, his trip to England for the wedding will be the first time they meet.

It was also shared that Meghan will not have a maid of honour.

“She has a very close-knit circle of friends and she didn’t want to choose one over another,” according to the statement.

“All have been actively involved in helping her prepare for the day and will be there in the days beforehand. She’s very happy to have their support.”

Princess Diana will also be remembered and honoured during the ceremony.

“All three siblings of Diana, Princess of Wales will be in attendance and Lady Jane Fellowes will give the reading.

“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel honoured Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late Princess on the wedding day.”

You’ll want to be home by 11pm AEST on May 19 when the festivities kick off.  We have a feeling you won’t want to miss this royal wedding.
