Surprise: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have returned to the UK. The couple, who have been making headlines recently due to the release of Markle’s podcast, Archetypes, and her subsequent PR run (see also: Meghan of Monticeto) to promote it, popped back to Harry’s home country on Monday.
Attending the One Young World Summit in Manchester, the event marked the couple’s first joint working visit in England since stepping back from their senior royal roles in March 2020 and, therefore, Markle’s first speech there since they relocated to California.
For the occasion, Markle, who has been leaning into elevated workwear of late to coincide with her new role as a top podcast host, opted for an all-red ensemble, comprised of a bow blouse and tailored trousers from sustainable New York-based label, Another Tomorrow.
The last time Markle and Prince Harry returned to the UK was in June to participate in Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. During their visit, they brought over their two children, Archie Harrison, 3, and Lilibet Diana, 1, who hadn’t met her great-grandmother or grandfather prior to the trip.
At the time, it was reported that though the couple did see Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, they notably didn’t spend any alone time with Prince William or Kate Middleton, nor did the pair’s respective children, who are first cousins, see each other.
It’s unclear whether the royals will see the pair this trip, but considering Markle and Prince Harry have made it clear they’d like to make amends, here’s hoping.
