Buckingham Palace might’ve just livened up its halls with a glamorous state banquet attended by the likes of David and Victoria Beckham and Prince William. But on the other side of the pond, Meghan Markle has stepped out to grace a gala of her own.
Amid ongoing solo appearances and reports that the American Riviera Orchard founder and her husband, Prince Harry, are adopting a new dynamic, the Duchess of Sussex arrived as a vision of minimal elegance at an event toasting her friend, Tyler Perry. Hosted at Los Angeles’ Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Markle once again used her latest public excursion to throw support behind a long-term companion.
While we’re rarely afforded a look at Markle on the red carpet as she prefers an intimate soirée to champion her causes in, the 43-year-old snapped right into a regal mode as she posed for onlooking cameras. Keeping within her newfound understated approach to style, Markle opted for a demure silhouette that gently sculpted her figure, providing the touch of mystique required for Hollywood functions.

The gown was designed by Oscar De La Renta and featured a strapless, sweetheart neckline and soft gathering around the bodice. The dress fell to the floor in a stunning waterfall of fabric before being cut into a dramatic, thigh-high split and finishing in a train in a style not too dissimilar to Princess Diana’s revenge dress. The mother-of-two completed her look with Celine heels, eye-catching and a Cartier Love bracelet.
As you may recall, Perry provided the now-Montecito-based couple with an insurmountable lifeline following their departure from the royal family in 2020. As chronicled in the couple’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, the comedian invited the pair to live in one of his mansions after several security breaches and paparazzi interventions. Tyler is also the godfather of their youngest child, Princess Lilibet, 3.

Meanwhile, on the East Coast, Prince Harry used his latest outing to debunk divorce rumours. During a talk at The New York Times’ 2024 DealBook Summit, the Spare author spoke about the incessant reports that speculate on their relationship.
“Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?” Prince Harry said. “It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it,” he continued. “
The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.” Thankfully, we can save adding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s names to the list of couples who have broken up in 2024.
